The principle of the competitive colloidal gold assay is the same as that of the competitive ELISA. In this method, the antigen wrapped in the detection line (T-line) and the antigen in the sample to be tested compete to bind the gold-labeled antibody. If there is no antigen present in the sample to be tested, the gold-labeled antibody binds to the T-line wrapped antigen first during the swimming process. If an antigen is present in the sample, the antigen in the sample competes with the encapsulated antigen to bind to the gold standard antibody, and the antigen in the sample continues to swim until it binds to the secondary antibody encapsulated in the quality control line (C line).
